Towards Points of Clarity: NALC and NAIM
I read the recent article in the BV by Malik (NABPP-PC).
The question posed was whether or not the NAIM or "New Afrikn Revolutionary Nationalism were at odds with anti-racist or anti-fascist" politics? First off, where is this nonsense coming from? Second, why would we be "at odds" with ppl who are in theory and practice, anti racist or anti fascist? Do We have some ideological differences? Sure. We got em within the NAIM itself; it’s not a monolithic movement, neither is the Anarchist or Antifa Movement.
We are at odds with the neo fascist imperialist state and ANYONE (PRSN OR INSTITUTION) that chooses to align themselves with such.
While I don't proclaim to speak for the entire NAIM, I will say this. We believe in strategic alliances, principled relationships, but We are our own liberators. If ppl would show our movement the proper respect and take the time to do the proper research, then they would know the history of the NAIM and various relationships with North Akan Anti Imperialist formations.
If ppl showed our theoreticians and theoretical giants like Atiba 'Yaki' Shanna, Sanyika Shakur, Chokwe Lumumba, Jahlil, respect and studied Meditations on Frantz Fanon, Stand Up Struggle Forward, Vita Wa Watu, N.A. P.O.W. Theoretical Journals, History of the NAIM by Chokwe., then they would understand our anti-fascist and anti-imperialist politics. If ppl studied Settlers: the Mythology of the White Proletariat and Night Vision: Illuminating War & Class on the Neo Colonial Terrain, FROLINAN, etc then they would know what Our political line, posture and position is on such questions.
While ideological struggle around theory and practice is a must and necessary and is a healthy practice, it is not the responsibility of NALC or any other formation within the NAIM to bend over backwards to make north amerikans in particular and others in general, feel comfortable. People have to do their research and then try to engage Us. Some questions can't be answered other than through struggle and Vita Wa Watu. Some questions the ppl will be forced to decide through struggle and on the field. This is where theory and political lines are applied to concrete and objective reality, to materialist reality. Some of these so-called "questions", ain't questions for Us. They’re questions for others that apparently they feel the need to wrestle with them.
It’s called theoretical. Nothing is written in stone. We aren’t under any illusion that if a people’s struggle escalates in this EMPIRE and escalates into open armed conflict, that the continental u.s. will remain the same as we know it. Like I say, some things/questions and issues are just disrespectful and tiresome. I also wonder if some aren't meant to intentionally be divisive. We work with anyone who is genuinely committed to the rev process and against all forms of oppression...but more importantly recognize Our right to engage in armed struggle to liberate the Republic of New Afrika. If one ain't recognizing that, then how can we have any kind of real working relationship? This issue of Nationhood, Land, Nationality, etc are issues that must be resolved amongst New Afrikans, the various Rev N.A. forces and through revolutionary struggle/boots on the ground. This also applies to various alliances.
We as a people have a right to a plebiscite/people’s vote, something that has always been denied Us. And we don't owe ANYONE an explanation for seeking such. The fact that people would have a problem with this, would try to deny Us such, in my opinon says more about their politics than Ours. The fact that ppl are trying to reduce the NAIM and our struggle for Land and Independence to that of a racial politic or equate it with that of Zionism, again says more about their politics than Ours and again, the fact that they have not studied our materials or line. This old/ancient argument about such a line precipatating or feeding into that of a race war, again is tiresome. I don't know what planet ppl has been on or kountry they have been living, but that war has been going on for over 400 yrs and while I know some of y'all are afraid to use the language as it applies to New Afrikans or so called black folks, but it’s called kolonialism, neo-kolonialism, kapitaalist imperialism, genocide, state violence, kkkrime bills, war on drugs, weed and seed, stop resisting and a whole lot of other shit. What the ×÷^©® is you ppl talking about race war?! The shooting/lynching war started a long time ago!
I don't know why whenever We are pro New Afrikan (black), there exist the reactionary impulse, ego defense mechanism amongst self-prescribed revolutionaries and 'progressives ' to place Us in an anti-'white' racialist politic. If you're pro black heritage, etc., you/We must by default hate or be anti white or anti everyone else. Again this isn't our politic and comrade Yaki in the book Meditations on Frantz Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth did a excellent job of breaking this down.
Also towards a point of clarity. As a cadre of NALC and co- founding member along with comrade Kwame Shakur, one of the primary missions of the Re:Build: New Afrikan People's Assembly Conference is geared towards Rebuilding the movement towards national liberation struggle and socialist revolution. Geared towards Rebuilding networks and strategic alliances. It’s about trying to not only announce to Our community that We exist, but to work on establishing basic units and bases within the community. It’s about trying to ReBuild institutions and structures that meet the needs of the community...from the masses to the masses. NALC believes in the concept of dual power, meaning creating Our own parallel governing structures and becoming less dependent on the state/govt. What it isn't about is trying to organize or rally Our ppl to support some lying neo kolonial imperialist politician running in this 2020 election. We are Our own liberators. The U.N., bourgeoisie electoral politics, ain't gone save Us. ReBuilding the movement, Our organizations and the creating of a revolutionary vanguard is Our path to freedom.
